I found the Chisona workshop to be a great experience! They led us through many lessons which were very easy to follow. Every week we went through PowerPoints ranging for nanotechnology to neuromarketing, leaving me with a lot more knowledge than before. The Chisona workshop introduced me to the crest award project, I’m doing mine about more sustainable space exploration and they have been helping me out along the way. Definitely would recommend!

Chisona Academy is a great website for students to learn outside of school. It helped me improve in the subject that I was struggling in.

During the lessons that I have completed throughout the summer on Chisona Academy, I have found them very interesting as I’ve learned about various different topics that I didn’t know much about before. I have enjoyed the lessons, and they have helped me figure out what I have an interest in.

The STEM programme that I took part in this summer was phenomenal. I have gained so much confidence in talking to others and openly and freely expressing my opinions and knowledge. Not only has this programme challenged me socially, but it also challenged me academically – teaching me about the different disruptive technologies and the future of science and engineering. Ranging from neuromarketing to nanotechnology to different research methods to space exploration, each lesson was filled with intriguing topics and ideas which in turn allowed me to feel more inspired and excited to further continue the course. Due to my exposure to such eye-opening, new information, I have been motivated to work on a science Bronze Crest Award. My project will be based on nanotechnology with my research question being: ‘Is it possible for nanotechnology to help control and prevent seizures?’ As a young person who aspires to be a neurosurgeon, this aspect of science interests me the most. Furthermore, I had a spectacular team of lecturers from Kingston University who guided, supported and educated me throughout the entire experience! Overall, I would rate the programme a 10/10, and I would definitely recommend it to others! Thank you Chisona Academy for everything!

The STEM program was very good. I learnt new, valuable, and vital knowledge and skills to take my education to the next level. I learnt a lot about the UN Goals, and I understand what the world is aiming for and how to improve it. I relished learning about disruptive technologies that would change the world, such as 3D printing of foods, which can help end world hunger. My favourite lesson was learning about the Kardashev scale and the different civilisations (Earth is at 0.72 on the scale). I found it very interesting, and it was explained thoroughly. Overall, it was an extremely well organised and enjoyable programme. I was also challenged and pushed beyond my limits when completing the Bronze CREST Award about Dyson Swarms. I would definitely recommend Chisona Academy.

I think you stand for what you teach. Very good and friendly teachers. I have two children on Chisona, and they are convinced that they are learning quite well from your teaching.
The teachers also speak clearly to my children’s understanding.

My daughter is in Year 9 and has been having Physics lessons with Chisona Academy for 7 weeks. The lessons are already making a difference. She speaks of how her understanding of the subject has improved. And I can see she feels more confident.
The teacher is patient and engaging. It is a 1:1 one hour lessons but the teacher keeps physics engaging and interesting throughout. Really good lessons.

It has been a pleasure to work with such passionate teachers at Chisona Academy. Everyone wants to get results for all their pupils and pupils respond well to staff.
