Student Wellbeing
Professional Articles
As Educational Psychologists, we are primarily concerned with how people learn and seek ways to improve their learning outcomes. First, we recognize that there are individual differences and external factors (home and school) that contribute to the dynamics of learning. So, we assist teachers, parents and students to identify and engage with these dynamics so that the teaching and learning process becomes enhanced and effective.
Next, in ensuring the educational success of our students we take cognizance of the challenges they face in learning and expose them to skills and patterns of study that help improve memory and ability to retain information. However, not all challenges are study oriented. Hence, a holistic approach of psychological assessments and guidance is integrated into our process. Through webinars, published articles and counselling services students will be helped to navigate through their various developmental stages and provide that positive outlook needed to solve any educational problems they may encounter. The overall aim remains the facilitation of students’ academic, social, emotional, and personal achievement. To our students we say, “embrace the achiever in you”.
It is important to look after the mental health of children and young people. Mental illnesses, emotional behaviour disorders if not treated usually have serious implications in adult life. That is why at Chisona Academy, we recognise the importance of looking after the mental health of our students.
We offer regular webinars, blogs, published articles, assessments as well as 1-2-1 support in addressing any mental health difficulties children may be facing. To our students we say, “embrace the achiever in you”.
